Science Lab Technician

Job Description

The Science Lab Technician is responsible for the management of teaching materials, the organization and preparation of demonstrations and practical work for science courses. His/her skills must be oriented towards biology, chemistry and physics. 

The main tasks of the Science Lab Technician will be: 

  • Organizing and maintaining the laboratories, assisting in the smooth running of the laboratories and assisting the science teachers and students in case of need. 
  • Setting up the devices, apparatus and products used by the teachers and students during theoretical and practical teaching. 
  • Managing and maintaining the equipment, teaching materials and products used. 
  • Stock management and ordering 


Profile:

  • University degree in sciences. 
  • Excellent knowledge of French or English (knowledge of the other language is an asset). 
  • Experience as a scientific technician in a school or in the organization and operation of a laboratory is an asset. 
  • Very good command of computer tools (MS Office) and ability to learn new software quickly. 
  • Organizational skills, ordered, autonomous, able to take initiatives. 
  • Team player, easy to integrate into a school environment, sense of responsibility (especially in terms of safety).

  • Start date: 02/12/2024 (until 30/05/2025). 
  • Place of work: European School Brussels II.  Initial gross monthly salary full time: € 4.954,36
