Like all European Schools, the EEBII provides children with a multilingual and multicultural education at nursery, primary and secondary levels. Aimed primarily for children of staff of the European Institutions, our school follows a specific curriculum and offers the European Baccalaureate diploma.

EEBI is part of the European Schools system and provides education to children whose parents work for the European institutions.

Our school community consists of 4,250 students from 60 different nationalities and over 500 staff members from various countries. Students study in twelve language sections: English-speaking, Danish, Spanish, French, German-speaking, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Latvian, Polish, Slovak, and Slovenian.

Job description and main responsibilities 

Under the supervision of the Senior Technician and the Deputy Director of Finance and Administration, the worker will perform the following tasks:

  • Various plumbing tasks (unblocking, installing new systems, regular maintenance checks, descaling, technical tests, cleaning, replacements, etc.);
  • Various painting, electrical, carpentry, and metalwork tasks;
  • Welcoming, informing, and guiding suppliers;
  • Monitoring equipment and ensuring the application of safety regulations;
  • Setting up classrooms and meeting rooms (relocations);
  • Installing materials for events;
  • Daily maintenance of green spaces: mowing, clearing, pruning, trimming, leaf blowing, and maintaining roads, pathways, and gutters;
  • Working at height;
  • Any other occasional tasks deemed necessary and appropriate by the Deputy Director.


Profile:

  • At least two years of experience in a similar role;
  • A higher secondary technical diploma (CESS) or equivalent through experience;
  • BA4 qualification is desirable;
  • Very good knowledge of French. Knowledge of English or Dutch is an asset;
  • Computer literacy: Windows, OFFICE 365;
  • Organisational flexibility and ability to meet deadlines;
  • Stress resistance and dynamism;
  • Excellent communication skills in a demanding multilingual environment;
  • Autonomy and ability to work in a team;
  • Proactivity and sense of initiative.


Offer:

A fixed-term contract of six months, subject to Belgian social and fiscal legislation and following the regulations of the Administrative and Service Staff (AAS);

Start date: as soon as possible;

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week;

Place of work: Uccle and Berkendael campuses;

Gross monthly salary for full-time: €3,386.36;
